What goes into THE PRO
THE PRO carries an aluminium stay inside. It keeps the bag up on the bike and your headlight clear, even with little packed. The main compartment takes 22 to 30 litres. Slip pockets sit on both sides, a zipped pocket at the front, and a padded compartment for your laptop inside. LUMABAG includes the bag frame for the front carrier block, and the bag itself stays at 1.4 kg.

Which bag fits at the front of a Brompton?
THE PRO rides up front on the Brompton with 22 to 30 litres, held by the front carrier block. That block is the mount on the frame, which you buy from Brompton and fit to the bike. Every bag on it needs a bag frame, and with THE PRO the frame already sits in the back panel. To fit it, set the bag with its frame into the block. Before you set off, tuck the shoulder straps into the loop on the back panel, clear of the spokes. A roll-top closes the bag: the fabric rolls down and a Fidlock magnetic buckle holds the roll. The more you pack, the taller the bag builds.

The aluminium stay and the compression straps
A hook-and-loop strip holds the aluminium stay in place inside. Its job: the bag keeps its shape on the bike and stays clear of the headlight, even when little sits inside. Two compression straps run across the sides. Pull them and THE PRO loses depth while the load closes up. Reflective details along the lower edge throw light back as soon as a headlight catches you. 22 to 30 litres of load meet 1.4 kg of bag, 1.7 kg once the bag frame is in. Dimensions: H 34 to 59 × W 33 × D 20 cm.

Where the laptop, the bottle and your keys go
Laptops between 13 and 15 inches fit the padded compartment, depending on their dimensions. Inside, THE PRO counts four pockets: the laptop compartment, a zipped pocket and two flat slip pockets. Your water bottle and umbrella stand in the open slip pockets on both sides. Keys and phone get their own YKK zipped pocket at the front, reachable from outside.

What the fabric has to take on the road
Three layers carry the load: the base, the outer shell and the lining. The base takes the most, so LUMABAG works recycled bicycle tyre into it. Its tread sets every bag apart. Above that sits waxed cotton. A wax finish from a Scottish mill is what makes it water-repellent. You can top that finish up yourself: the wax tin from LUMABAG holds the wax. Where the fabric was folded during sewing, paler patches show, and they are part of the material. Cordura lines the inside, a coated nylon of the kind outdoor makers use.

Both THE PRO and the Bromfort sit in the same carrier block. Their figures match too: 22 to 30 litres at H 34 to 59 × W 33 × D 20 cm. What separates them is the kit. THE PRO adds the aluminium stay, the compression straps and the slip pockets on the sides. It organises more, the Bromfort stays plainer. Sharing that footprint is THE URBAN TRAVELLER, the classic of the range.
